In this last weekend with Lake Guaíba swell and strong wind blowing on the beach Caisinho in Guaíba RS-Brazil, was the second edition of the Prolife South American Jet Ski 2011 (PSA) conducted by the Association Rio Grande Jet Ski (ARJS) with the support of the City of Guaíba and Fundergs occurred on days 3 and 4 December and ended with plenty of sunshine and heat. The audience of more than 5,000 people on Saturday and Sunday followed the most exciting contests in the closed circuit occurred on Saturday afternoon and Lake Open on Sunday.
Lake Guaíba have required much physical effort and concentration the tests occurred in a very competitive with several jets and more than 40 drivers entered. Competitors participated in several parts of Brazil and South America including Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay. The states that were attended Sao Paulo, Goias, Parana, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais and Bahia.
In the Open Lake, the competition took place with a battery of fireworks and a Le Mans type start. The circuit developed by the Organization, was around 23 km with two laps to the total, leaving the beach in the center of the Caisinho Guaíba toward the gasholder plant in Porto Alegre, returning toward the starting point by passing the Prison Island.
The highlight was the Argentine Daniel McKey, with his Kawasaki Ultra 300x, which won in the fastest category, the Runabout Turbo GP. In addition to the disputes in the water, the audience was another attraction in the air: the race was accompanied by a helicopter hired for fimagens of the best times of trial. Undoubtedly, the images speak for themselves.
